Adam Levine has spoken out about the lawsuit against Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams. In an interview Adam said, "That’s completely unfair what happened to them. It’s unfounded, it doesn’t make any sense… the case against them is a complete fabrication, and my heart goes out to those guys because those guys didn’t do anything wrong, and somehow they were punished for that. But you know, they’re gonna fight against it, and they’re gonna do what they can do. Within the law, they made zero errors, and it still baffles me that that case went the way that it did."
He added, "Hopefully someday it will get overturned and an aspiring songwriter won’t feel as though they can’t emulate their heroes because there’s some big grey area when it comes to writing songs. That’s what bums me out the most… it’s not even about the lawsuit and about the money, it’s more about the concept that someone can be inspired and be influenced and be punished for that. That’s bullshit and it never should have happened."
We completely agree Adam! In fact in a recent video we even said that it was ruining artist’s creativity:
