Twitter has completed its hashtag analysis of Sunday night’s Grammys, naming New Zealand singer Lorde the most-tweeted-about person over the three-and-a-half hour CBS telecast.
The social media site revealed its findings on Monday. A total of 15.2 million tweets about the award show were sent out over the course of the East Coast broadcast. Lorde was the most-mentioned, followed by Beyonce and Taylor Swift. Twitter activity peaked at 9:50 p.m. Eastern, during the high energy performance delivered by Imagine Dragons and Kendrick Lamar, mashing up their hits “Radioactive” and “M.A.A.d. City.”
Tweets also spiked when Lorde accepted her first win for Best Pop Solo Performance and during her performance of “Royals.” One of the most popular hashtags from the Grammys was “#surfboard” — a line that Beyonce and Jay Z shared during their opening “Drunk In Love” performance.
