Taylor Swift has made good on her promise to donate the proceeds of "Welcome to the New York" to the city's public schools.
The Big Apple's newest celebrity resident and "Global Welcome Ambassador" promised the gift back in October and recently has handed over a check for $50,000 to New York's public schools.
A spokesperson for the Department of Education says "We’re deeply appreciative of this kind gesture to donate her proceeds of the single 'Welcome to New York' to benefit New York City public schools."
