Rihanna made history Wednesday when the Recording Industry Association of America announced that she's the first artist to receive certifications for more than 100 million records sold.
RIAA Chairman Cary Sherman said, “We’ve given awards to artists for nearly 60 years, but it’s rare that we have the opportunity to recognize a milestone like the one Rihanna has reached. She has not only surpassed RIAA’s one-hundred million mark, but also is the first artist to do so. It’s an historic feat and a testament to an extraordinary career.”
Some of the successful tracks which helped her accomplish the feat include “We Found Love ” (9-times platinum), “Stay” (6-times platinum) and her two latest singles, “FourFiveSeconds” (2-times platinum) and “B*tch Better Have My Money” (platinum). Her next album, R8, is due out this year.
