If you were harboring any burning questions about Kanye West‘s 2020 presidential bid, which he announced at the MTV Video Music Awards last month, the rapper spoke to Vanity Fair and opened up about his decision to run for office.
‘Ye confirmed with the publication that he is serious about running for president, but humbly admits, “I’ve got a lot of research to do, I’ve got a lot of growing up to do.”
The rapper also discussed why the VMAs audience was so supportive of his spontaneous announcement, claiming people are now cognizant of his honesty and thoughtfulness. “As soon as I said that, it was like, ‘Wait a second, we would really be into that, because actually if you think about it, he’s extremely thoughtful,'” he said. “‘Every time he’s ever gotten in trouble, he was really jumping in front of a bullet for someone else. He’s probably the most honest celebrity that we have.'”
