Miley Cyrus said goodbye to her beloved dog Floyd on Tuesday night. The 21-year-old pop star revealed that she was “broken” and sad to announce that her Alaskan klee kai that she adopted in July 2011 has passed away.
She followed up the devastating news with tweets about how his death was affecting her. The “Wrecking Ball” singer, who has been on a whirlwind 39-city jaunt through North America for her Bangerz Tour, didn’t get to spend much time with her precious puppy due to her schedule. Her loss has struck a somber note with her fans; the hashgtag #RIPFloyd has trended on Twitter.
Floyd has been with the award-winning artist through some of her toughest times this past year. Her pet pooch stood by her side during her split with her former fiancé, “The Hunger Games” star Liam Hemsworth, through the backlash over her performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, and has showered her with kisses, which she regularly documents on Instagram.
Floyd passed away just shy of his third birthday on May 5. Cyrus has not released a statement about the cause of death.
