Kesha is promising to give fans new music “soon,” and on Saturday, she whet their appetite with a short Instagram video in which she’s heard singing a capella.
In the brief clip, Kesha sings softly, “Stay young/wild one/I know your heart has been through it all/stay young.” From just those lyrics, fans are already speculating the star is working on an autobiographical track that touches on her personal struggles. Kesha captioned the post, “I will release new music as soon as I possibly can animals. as soon as I f***ing can.”
Almost immediately after, #LetKeshaGoDrLuke began trending on Twitter, a nod to the “Free Kesha” campaign that fans began last year. Many took the singer’s comment to be an indirect reference to her ongoing legal war with music producer Dr. Luke, who still has Kesha signed to his Kemosabe record label, despite a huge falling out.
