Ed Sheeran has served as a cowriter on a lot of One Direction songs including Up All Night‘s “Moments,” Take Me Home‘s “Over Again” and “Little Things,” and FOUR‘s “18” — but don’t expect any Ed-penned tracks on 1D’s forthcoming record Made in the A.M.
The singer thinks the boys are now seasoned songwriters, so his talents are no longer needed.
“They’ve gotten to a point where they know how to write songs,” he said. “[Harry Styles] was 16 when I first met him … but now he’s 21 and has written with everyone in the world and learned how to write songs, so they don’t really need as much help anymore. They can kind of do their own thing.”
