"American Idol" is getting the boot. FOX has announced the long-running singing competition show will get a 15th and final season next year.
The hit that launched the careers of artists like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Clay Aiken, Jordin Sparks and Jennifer Hudson will come to an end after one more star-studded season that promises to serve as a tribute to the previous years.
The final season will premiere next January and host Ryan Seacrest will be along for the ride with celebrity judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. "Idol" has been met with a ratings decline in recent years after the popularity of NBC's "The Voice."
